GEMPRO-50

Over the past 7 years the Gempro 50 has earned itself a very strong and loyal following. This was the first pocket precision digital gemscale ever launched. It uses an innovative pop-up windcover that allows the scale to maintain a very compact size when the case is closed. In fact it is the smallest (when closed) in it's class. There is no other gemscale available that is truly portable like the original Gempro 50.

The Gempro 50 is still made in Taiwan using Japanese components. Nowadays almost all other gemscales are made in China. While the Gempro 50 may not have all the bells and whistles of the newer Gempro 250 or 500, it is a very reliable and trusted instrument. Sales of this classic scale are as strong today as they were 7 years ago, which speaks to the quality and reputation of this instrument.

If you are looking for a compact portable gemscale, there is no choice better then the Gempro 50 classic.

GemPro 50

Low Batteries & bad battery connections are the #1 cause of scale malfunction and inaccuracy! We test all of our scale returns from consumers. Fully 60% of consumer returns are battery related problems. This sounds silly but it's true! A scale will perform slowly, or read inaccurately when it has low batteries. Please replace the batteries often (and only use good quality batteries). We include good quality batteries with all of our scales but batteries can run low in storage. If your scale simply won't turn on while on Battery power, this is often caused by loose battery connections. Battery prongs (terminals) are made of metal. They must be making good contact with your batteries in order for the scale to power on. You can use a paperclip to slightly bend the battery prongs to make them have a better connection. Also some poorly designed batteries have recessed or partially obstructed battery terminals. This may cause your prongs to be touching the plastic housing of the battery instead of the metal battery terminal.

PLEASE READ COMPLETE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE
Thank you for purchasing The My Weigh GemPro 50. With normal care and proper treatment it will provide years of reliable service. Please read all operating instructions carefully. It may be necessary to calibrate the scale before the first use.
.KEEP THE FOLLOWING POINTS IN MIND:
* Please remember to remove the platform expansion tray before use – the tray must not be installed upside down during use!
* Avoid any exposure to extreme heat or cold, your scale works
best when operated at normal room temperature. Always allow
the scale to acclimate to normal room temperature for at least one hour before use.
* Allow sufficient warm up time. Usually 30-60 seconds before calibration to give the internal components a chance to stabilize.
* The cleaner the environment the better. Dust, dirt, moisture, vibration, air currents and proximity to other electronic equipment can all cause an adverse effect on the reliability and accuracy of your scale.
* Handle with care. Gently apply all items to be weighed onto tray top. Although this scale is designed to be quite durable, try to avoid rough treatment as this may permanently damage the internal sensor.
* Avoid shaking, dropping or otherwise shocking the scale. This is a precision instrument and MUST BE HANDLED WITH EXTREME CARE.
* Only operate the scale on a stable, vibration free surface.
* DO NOT OVERLOAD THE SCALE. Do not place anything that weighs more then 10 grams on the scale or you may permanently damage the scale and void your warranty.
KEYBOARD FUNCTIONS:
ON/TARE : Power on switch
TARE : Press the key to tare the container weight.
UNITS : To select weighing units g/ct/gn
OFF : Power off switch
AUTO CALIBRATION
NOTE: The scale may not allow recalibration if it does not require calibration, instead it will simply turn off when you add on the 10g weight because the stored weight (10g weight in memory) and the actual weight (10g) are the same.
1. Turn the scale OFF. Press and hold the ON/TARE key, then while holding down the
ON/TARE key, press the UNITS key 3 times, then release the ON/TARE key.
2. The scale will now be in calibration mode. The display will first show a random
figure, then it will show “C 10”.
3. Place the 10 gram weight on the tray. The scale will change to 10.000. The Calibration
is complete. Remove the weight from the tray.
ADVANCED PROGRAMMING MODE (for advanced users only)
1. Press and hold the “ON/TARE” key and don’t release it, then press the “UNITS” key four times. Now release the “ON/TARE” key. The scale will enter the following modes:
(A)OFF_X(1-9) (B)SLEP 0/1 (C)Unit 1 (D) Unit 2
Press “ON/TARE” key to select (A) to (D) sequentially.
(A) OFF_X(1-9): Select time auto off. Use “UNITS” key to choose
“OFF_1” (shortest auto-off time) through ”OFF_9” (longest auto-off time)
(B) SLEP 0/1: Please use “UNITS” key to choose auto off (1) or no auto off (0). “OFF_X” is only effective in “SLEP 1” mode.
(C) Unit 1: fix the scale reading (weighing) units of g/gn/ct. The default setting is as follows: ► next to GN, ► next to CT, and “g” should show in the right corner (not an arrow). If you press the UNITS key to change the Unit 1 so that there is ► an next to the GN, ► next to the CT and ► next to G, then the scale will actually read as follows: When in GN mode , the scale will actually show grain. When in CT mode, the scale will actually show carat. When in G mode, grams will be shown. You can also change the display so that it will read in grams or ounces by pressing the units key until the “g” and “oz” both light up on the display. Then the scale will be able to read in grams or ounces.
REMEMBER: You can always change the scale back to it’s default settings.
(D) Unit 2: To select the default weighing mode (what mode the scale will initially turn on in).
(E) All settings are finished, turn off the scale. (turn the scale off).
